About The Role
What if you could improve the way you deliver urgent care to your patients – and at the same time improve your career prospects? When you join the multidisciplinary team in our Out Of Hours service (located in Colchester and Clacton-on-Sea) – as self-employed, bank or salaried – you can.
As the largest independent provider of NHS services, Practice Plus Group is delivering a new model of Integrated Urgent Care that reduces pressures on services and staff. By bringing together NHS 111 call centres, clinical assessment and other urgent care services, we enable patients to access the right care, when they need it. It’s better for everyone.

This is an ideal opportunity for an ambitious and committed Advanced Nurse Practitioner (ANP) who can independently prescribe. It’s a chance to simplify and speed up the way patients receive care – by assessing them, planning their care, administering treatment and discharging or referring them to other healthcare professionals or external agencies, via primary care centres and home visits. You will also be using our electronic prescribing system.

We are proud of our strong, stable infrastructure that ensures clinical safety and facilitates senior-level support and guidance. You’ll benefit from regular supervision and education events, including weekly case discussions with the medical lead.

We can offer this role as either permanentbank or self-employed.

About The Candidate
What you will need:
  • Recent experience as an autonomous advanced nurse practitioner in a primary/urgent care environment, with a proven ability to see, treat and discharge patients of all ages with unscheduled presentations.
  • patient assessment qualificationindependent prescribing qualification and NMC PIN.
  • Excellent listening and communication skills, with good IT and keyboard skills.
What you will get:
  • Competitive pay rates/salary.
  • Flexible working hours.
For salaried employees:
  • 25 days’ annual leave (salaried full time equivalent), increasing with service up to 28 days per year + bank holidays.
  • Practice Plus Group benefits including online shopping discounts and vouchers, pension, free eye tests, cycle to work schemes and more!

Company

Be the doctor you want to be at Practice Plus Group

Welcome to Practice Plus Group, the country’s largest independent provider of NHS services.

We deliver a wide range of quality, flexible services to millions of patients across the UK. But what do we give the doctors who work for us?

In a word, freedom.

Our primary care services range from GP services and walk-in centres to urgent care and SARCs, out of hours services and offender health.

That means, as a doctor joining our team, you have the freedom to choose where you work. Do you want to specialise in one area? Go for it. Would you prefer a portfolio career, developing your skills and experience in a selection of services? That’s also fine by us. Whichever option you choose, one thing’s for sure: because we serve a rich mix of patient populations you can expect a wealth of professional challenges that will really test – and develop – your skills.

What’s more, you’re free to choose the hours you want to work. So you can join us on a full time basis, or fit your role at Practice Plus Group around existing work or lifestyle commitments. Our GP practices and walk-in centres are open late and at weekends, so you can work whatever mix of hours and days that suit you.

We also understand that you’d rather be treating patients than shuffling paper, so we free you from much of the admin that you’ll find in a traditional GP practice. Plus, because our GPs don’t buy into our practices, you can say goodbye to the logistical worries that come with running a practice. All in all, you’re free to get on with doing what you trained for – treating patients.

What else do we offer?

  • If you join us as a salaried GP, we’ll pay your medical indemnity costs.
  • We’ll support you in your continuing professional development, so that you continue to meet your appraisal and revalidation requirements.
  • You’ll be joining a supportive team of quality health professionals, including expert medical leads who will provide ongoing one-to-one support and guidance.

At Practice Plus Group we’re constantly adapting our healthcare services and models to suit the way people live now. If you like the sound of joining an innovative, forward-thinking healthcare provider where your skills and experience will be valued and developed, apply for one of our roles today.
