Salaried GP

Role

Two General Practitioners to join this fantastic team.  This is a permanent or long term position working eight sessions per week with on-call.

This is a unique opportunity to join a large team of health professionals in a very supportive environment, where teamwork is essential. We are looking for an enthusiastic and outgoing GP who is confident with emergency care.

Aside from the main Wellsford clinic, there are also clinics located at Warkworth, Maungaturoto, Paparoa, Mangawhai, Snells Beach and Matakana.

Location

Wellsford and the surrounding clinics are located in the beautiful Northland region. The area is blessed with a temperate climate, and is regarded as the playground of the North. The region is strongly supported by the agriculture and farming industries, and despite the small size of the town, as a ‘doorway to the North’, it is often buzzing.

The Wellsford township is a small community of just over 1,500, conveniently located just over an hour’s drive from New Zealand’s largest city, Auckland. This gives you the benefits of a quiet and relaxed rural lifestyle, with an amazing urban centre at your doorstep!

You will never be short of things to do in this region! The huge Kaipara Harbour is to the West of the town and several excellent surf beaches lie to the east. If you want to stretch your legs, the Dome Forest Walkway is another local attraction. Enjoy boating and fishing at the beautiful bays and nearby islands, followed by a visit to a local winery. The famous farmers market at nearby Matakana, along with its cafes, boutique shops and restaurants are not to be missed. In just a short drive you will find rolling hills, native bush and Kauri forests, or beach resorts!

Primary schools are dotted through the region, with secondary schools in Maungaturoto, Wellsford and Warkworth to the South.
