Salaried GP

Role

A fixed term General Practitioner or Nurse Practitioner is sought for this well-equipped surgery in Otautau, Southland.  The role has 8 sessions (4 days) per week.

We are open for a GP for periods of 3-6 months.  A female is preferred.

If you have a good sense of humour and like to work within a very strong team environment then this is the perfect role for you!

Benefits

A competitive remuneration is offered. The package includes house, telephone, rental wifi, electricity and car (if required). The accommodation includes a fully furnished three bedroom house and the car includes a $300 monthly fuel allowance and maintenance costs. The practice will pay for relocation, your Council registration fees and the cost of your indemnity insurance.

Practice

There are around 2700 enrolled patients, with approximately 22 patients seen each day. The practice has friendly, fun staff and is cornerstone accredited. The practice currently has 2 male permanent GPs and would prefer a female GP or NP.

We have an excellent support staff and wonderful, kind and grateful patients. We are Trust owned and the Trust is very proactive in putting funding back into the community by paying or subsidising costs for patient flu vaccines and smears.

Location

Living in Otautau you will be surrounded with neighbouring fishing villages such as Riverton and Stewart Island which are home to a large number of native birds.  Fiordland National Park is only two hours away and you can experience the beautiful walks through the scenic Milford Sounds. This region is renowned for the great outdoors; hiking, wildlife, water sports, fishing and more!

Otautau is only a 2 hour drive to Queenstown with their amazing ski fields, jet-boating, lake scenery and great walking tracks. There is also the Skyline Gondola, bungy jumping, casino and ferry rides to keep you entertained.
