About The Role
Are you looking to work within a service that offers and promotes outstanding care to its patients?
We are seeking an experienced, enthusiastic General Practitioner to join the team at HMP Long Lartin to cover 6 sessions over 3 days, details of which can be discussed at interview. We appreciate flexibility, and therefore can accommodate sessional requests. As a member of the Multi-Disciplinary Team, you will provide clinical assessment and diagnosis to patient’s requirements and make timely decisions regarding future management. You will also provide a highly specialist resource to other healthcare staff, patients and carers and have active involvement in clinical governance/effectiveness activities.
HMP Long Lartin is a High Security Prison holding adult men. There is an 8 bed dedicated healthcare unit, including End of Life Facilities. Health in Justice deliver healthcare in a Prison setting comparable with a Community GP Practice. There are Primary care and Mental health nursing staff, Healthcare assistants, Recovery workers and Administrators all on site. Additionally other clinicians attend the Prison to deliver care such as the Dentist, Physio, Podiatrist, Optician, Psychologist, Psychiatrist.

MBChB or MBBS qualified, you’ll be registered with the GMC and on a PCT Medical Performers List. RCGP1 part 1 is desirable.
