This is an amazing opportunity to lead a truly integrated team who will deliver outstanding patient care. As the GP, you’ll support the Head of Healthcare in shaping the policies and strategies for developing and modernising clinical practice in order to ensure high quality, safe and appropriate healthcare services for our patients.
Prisons are one of the most challenging, yet rewarding places for healthcare professionals to work - if you’re looking for a role where you can develop your existing skills and learn something new every day in an environment that never stands still, then this is it! HMP Bure's patient group consists of a larger proportion of prisoners with multiple long term conditions; a GP who has a preference for this type of medicine would thrive in this role.

As part of this role, you will provide clinical assessment and diagnosis to patient’s requirements and make timely decisions regarding future management. You will also provide a highly specialist resource to other members of the healthcare team at site, as well as the patients you work with having active involvement in clinical governance and effectiveness activities. You will be pivotal in engaging the clinical workforce to support the delivery of the organisation’s objectives, and will have the chance to further develop your clinical and medical skills.
We recognise training and development is key, therefore we provide a training portal to facilitate your needs as well as have an in-depth induction for all staff whether you have experience of working in prisons or not. You will gain insight into Mental Health and Substance Misuse, as well as access to a variety of training opportunities with the opportunity to work towards your RCGP level 2 and other qualifications should you wish.
We offer an annual salary of up to £110,000 pro rata as this role is working 4 sessions a week. We can be flexible in our approach to sessions but ideally the Friday sessions would be suitable.
