Full Time Salaried GP
We are an innovative and caring, teaching and training PMS practice aiming to provide high quality care for an inner city area which has a vibrant and markedly diverse population, facing many of the exciting challenges and interests associated with health issues related to poverty, migrant health, multi-morbidity and varying culture and ethnicity. We also work with the homeless service in Birmingham providing primary care services to this patient group.
We are looking for a permanent full time salaried GP to join our team and to bring with them a good team spirit and willingness to contribute to the delivery of care.
The practice has over 12,000 patients and the practice team includes 6 partners, 4 part time salaried GPs, a strong nursing team with ANPs, NPs, PNs and HCAs, link worker and chaplains, a strong administrative team and IT support.
Reporting to: The Practice GP partners Dr Mills, Dr Pugh, Dr Bown, Dr Munro, Dr Saroya and Dr Whitelaw
Hours of work: Full time, sessions to be agreed plus equitable shares of home visits
Contract type: Full time salaried GP position
Role summary: The post-holder will provide general medical services and deal with a wide range of health needs in a primary care setting, ensuring the highest standards of care for all registered and temporary patients
Location: Cape Hill Medical Centre, Smethwick West Midlands. B66 3NR
Annual leave: 6 weeks annual leave. Bank holiday leave will be allocated on a pro- rata basis.
Study leave: 1 Week pro rata
Salary: Negotiable and in line with GPC model, depending on qualifications and experience
Main purpose of the role:
To support the team in providing care to the Practice population it provides services for. The appointee will also have the opportunity to take part in leading on key disease areas (monitoring trends in treatment, staff training and prescribing) and assist in developing appropriate healthcare services for a diverse, patient list (practice based commissioning, patient participation and health promotion with opportunity to teaching medical students.
