Calling all GPs!

Practice Plus Group, along with other independent providers of healthcare services are working with the NHS in a collective effort to combat the crisis posed by COVID-19.

In our collective response to COVID-19 Practice Plus Group, we are seeking applications from self-employed and salaried GPs to respond to increased demand in calls to our Out-of-Hours services.

Practice Plus Group are the largest provider of unscheduled care services in the UK and we proudly continue to lead the way with innovation in line with the vision of the NHS. We have permanent or self-employed opportunities within our North East Essex OOH service that serves Colchester and Clacton-on-Sea. We also have a telephone triage base in Ipswich.

If you are looking for flexible hours and want to help in this time of need, then we would be happy to discuss how working with us can fit around you and your other commitments.

The OOH service is open from 6.30pm – 8am Monday – Friday, and 24 hours over the weekends.

We can offer a contract between 28 – 40 hours per week, with flexible working patterns between 8pm – 8am or 12am – 8am.

Company

Be the doctor you want to be at Practice Plus Group

Welcome to Practice Plus Group, the country’s largest independent provider of NHS services.

We deliver a wide range of quality, flexible services to millions of patients across the UK. But what do we give the doctors who work for us?

In a word, freedom.

Our primary care services range from GP services and walk-in centres to urgent care and SARCs, out of hours services and offender health.

That means, as a doctor joining our team, you have the freedom to choose where you work. Do you want to specialise in one area? Go for it. Would you prefer a portfolio career, developing your skills and experience in a selection of services? That’s also fine by us. Whichever option you choose, one thing’s for sure: because we serve a rich mix of patient populations you can expect a wealth of professional challenges that will really test – and develop – your skills.

What’s more, you’re free to choose the hours you want to work. So you can join us on a full time basis, or fit your role at Practice Plus Group around existing work or lifestyle commitments. Our GP practices and walk-in centres are open late and at weekends, so you can work whatever mix of hours and days that suit you.

We also understand that you’d rather be treating patients than shuffling paper, so we free you from much of the admin that you’ll find in a traditional GP practice. Plus, because our GPs don’t buy into our practices, you can say goodbye to the logistical worries that come with running a practice. All in all, you’re free to get on with doing what you trained for – treating patients.

What else do we offer?

  • If you join us as a salaried GP, we’ll pay your medical indemnity costs.
  • We’ll support you in your continuing professional development, so that you continue to meet your appraisal and revalidation requirements.
  • You’ll be joining a supportive team of quality health professionals, including expert medical leads who will provide ongoing one-to-one support and guidance.

At Practice Plus Group we’re constantly adapting our healthcare services and models to suit the way people live now. If you like the sound of joining an innovative, forward-thinking healthcare provider where your skills and experience will be valued and developed, apply for one of our roles today.
