General Practitioner - HMP Isle of Wight (Parkhurst and Albany)

At Practice Plus Group we are looking to recruit dynamic GP’s to join our growing team at HMP Isle of Wight. HMP Isle of Wight's present role is a category B male training prison. The prison holds approximately 1100 prisoners on two sites with a central administration. 

If you are thinking of relocating, you should look at some of the amazing Isle of Wight attractions which include detailed history and heritage or maybe you would like to take time out at one of our many music festivals. 

Sometimes you might just want to get away from it all with a relaxing stroll along one of the many Isle of Wight beaches or through one of our magnificent Ventnor Botanic Gardens plus you can also want to visit one of our many amazing restaurants which only use local produce from the island. 

At the HMP Isle of Wight you will be joining an enthusiastic team of GPs, Mental Health Nurses, Registered Adult Nurses, Pharmacy Staff and HCAs providing ongoing treatment to patients within the prison. As a member of the Multi-Disciplinary Team, you as the General Practitioner will provide clinical assessment and diagnosis to patient’s requirements and make timely decisions regarding future management. 
You will also provide a highly specialist resource to other healthcare staff, patients and have an active involvement in clinical governance/effectiveness activities 

It doesn’t end there; you will have a chance to become actively involved in audit, teaching and training as well as helping us to adapt the service to the ever-changing needs of the patients. 

In this environment, we appreciate flexibility around working hours but we are also willing to accommodate requests. We are looking for part-time applicants and will offer up to £96,900 per annum (pro-rata).

Annual leave entitlement is 25 days per year plus bank holidays. Study leave entitlement is 5 days per year pro-rata, with the potential for funding on application plus we can also offer a relocation package
