We welcome applications from highly skilled Family Medicine Consultants for a rare opportunity to live in the Cayman Islands, and to work with a progressive and forward thinking medical operation that is introducing and developing the first women's only outpatient healthcare facility in the Islands.
The facility is designed to meet the screening, diagnostic, and wellness needs specific to women in the community across pre-menstrual to post-menopausal age ranges.
The mission is to provide the highest standards of healthcare to all women within community in so doing, providing personalised healthcare and improving access to health information through individualized education, advanced screening and diagnosis. The facility uses the most advanced technologies to provide outstanding services to meet the changing needs of the community, as well as contributing to diagnostic research.
Candidates require knowledge and experience in diseases, epidemiology and other medical conditions so that they can interpret symptoms and diagnose conditions.
You will also be given the scope to bring or develop a further sub-specialty interest to complement existing expertise within the facility. Because of the close knit nature of the communities in the Cayman Islands, physicians are expected to communicate directly with one another as a cohesive team when dealing with referrals, patients, and patient's families, as well as dealing direct with patients post-consultation.
The Cayman Islands is an autonomous British Overseas Territory made up of 3 islands in the western Caribbean. It needs little introduction really as it is an internationally renowned paradise location of sand, sea and sun.
Along with being an established tax haven it is a setting of exceptional beaches and extensive reefs and is a fantastic place to live as an expatriate, with plenty of opportunity to make the most of the amazing scenery and exceptional maritime leisure pursuits including big game fishing, diving, kite surfing and scuba diving amongst a host of others.
The Islands are made up of 3 separate islands and 5 distinct communities therein meaning that the islands enjoy a unique location with a vibrant expatriate community and a lively, welcoming culture. The islands are also steeped in maritime history both famous and infamous for those searching for some intrigue.
* Tax free salary ranging between: £90,000 to £180,000 (based on experience)
* Health insurance
* Holiday allowance - 10 - 20 days as per labour law based on Seniority
Key Skills and Qualifications
In order to apply and be successfully licenced with the Cayman Islands' Health Commission, applicants MUST HAVE the following:
* Consultant Level Qualification as per the below:
o UK CCT/CCST
o U.S Board Certification
o Canadian Royal College
o Australian Fellowship
o NZ Fellowship
o South Africa - MA
* Must have 3 years' experience post Consultant Level Qualification
* An active medical licence in one of the following countries:
o Australia, Canada, Jamaica, New Zealand, South Africa, United Kingdom, or United States of America
